1.Definition of Harassment
Harassment on AriesLift is defined as any unwanted, repeated, or offensive behavior by a user that targets another user—whether a trainee or trainer—and causes distress, fear, or disruption. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Threats of violence or intimidation, including repeated, hostile behavior intended to harm or intimidate another user through electronic means.
- Sexual harassment, sexually explicit messages, images, or conduct that is uninvited; personal compliments or remarks that are repeated or said in a way that sexualizes or personalizes the interaction, or shifts the interaction from a professional to a personal/romantic context.
- Cyberstalking or obsessive monitoring across digital platforms.
- Doxxing, or sharing personal information with intent to harm.
- Abusive or degrading language that exceeds the boundaries of respectful communication, including insults, derogatory terms, hate speech, slurs, or persistent profanity.
- Discrimination or harassment based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, race, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic.
AriesLift maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of harassment or discrimination. We are committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safe training environment for all members of our community.
Harassment could occur through messages, sessions, reviews, or any other form of communication. We expect trainees and trainers to use their best judgment in interacting with one another on and off the AriesLift platform. If someone’s words or behaviors make you feel uncomfortable, we encourage you to speak up or to report it.
2.How to Spot Harassment
Threats of Violence or Intimidation
What it is: Any verbal or written statement that causes a reasonable person to fear for their safety or feel coerced.
What it is not: Contains no direct or implied threat of harm, and is not repeated in a way that creates fear.
Sexual Harassment (incl. unwanted compliments)
What it is: Any uninvited sexual advance, request, comment, or behavior; includes repeated or said in a way that sexualizes or personalizes the interaction, or shifts the interaction from a professional to a personal/romantic context, or sexualized compliments that cross professional boundaries.
What it is not: A one-time, respectful compliment not followed by sexual/romantic advances, and unrelated to physical appearance in a sexualized way.
Cyberstalking / Obsessive Monitoring
What it is: Repeated, unwanted contact or attempts to monitor another user on AriesLift or other digital platforms.
What it is not: One follow-up message for clarification or professional matter, without repeated or unwanted pursuit.
Doxxing
What it is: Sharing someone’s private personal information with intent to cause harm, distress, or harassment.
What it is not: Sharing public, non-sensitive info for legitimate session purposes, without malicious intent.
Abusive or Degrading Language
What it is: Insults, slurs, persistent profanity, or language intended to demean the recipient.
What it is not: Mild frustration not directed at a person, or constructive criticism without abuse.
Discrimination / Hate Speech
What it is: Hate speech is a form of harassment that attacks, demeans, or calls for exclusion/violence against someone based on a protected characteristic (gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, race, religion, disability, etc.).
What it is not: Respectful personal or cultural expression without derogatory or harmful language, even if it involves preference.
